Get to know me

I believe that true growth begins with understanding and nurturing the relationship you have with yourself. In the therapeutic space, I focus on creating a safe, trusting environment where we can work together to uncover and reflect the person you truly are. I recognize that every behavior has its roots, and that with understanding and support, we all have the ability to change. Change is not just personal—it transforms the way we relate to others, especially those closest to us.

With 19 years of experience as a paramedic, I’ve learned a great deal about the human condition and developed a unique ability to connect with people in high-pressure, dynamic situations. This experience has allowed me to quickly read between the lines of a person’s story and guide them toward meaningful, lasting change.

In counseling, I take a person-centered approach—guided by curiosity, compassion, and a genuine commitment to helping you discover your authentic self. Through understanding and empathy, I’ll support you in revealing the best version of yourself, ultimately leading to personal truth and growth.

MY OWN JOURNEY

I have been working as a paramedic for 19 years and have learned much about suffering and the human condition

Throughout my career, I trained to become a high level of street paramedic. In school, I was taught of how the process of disease occurs, but not why people get sick. As I matured, I began to notice how the mind cannot be separated from the body. I began to see how the disconnection of the mind and body can lead to mental health challenges, addiction, and many other chronic medical conditions. Concurrently, I was going through my own mental health struggles after resuscitating my daughter’s best friend’s father in an opiate overdose. I was still highly functioning, but inside I was operating in a survival state. I had self awareness about what was happening, but this freeze mode looked like alarm, anxiety, and dissociation in my nervous system. Trauma lives in the limbic system of the body and predisposes one to see through the lens of the world being unsafe and dangerous. I began to work with breath work and somatic experiencing, which works directly with the fight/flight/freeze system and led to permanent changes in my nervous system. I value compassion and truth, I can recognize this in others. We are never broken, I can see the brighter qualities in people and can help support recovering your true self.
